 In-House Acting Coach

Andrew Onochie has been acting since he was only 5 years old and has since built an inspiring career in this industry. His first performance in a feature film was a lead role in “Tempting Fate”, in which many have praised for his heartfelt performance. But his passion for storytelling didn’t just stop at acting. Andrew partnered with Award winning Director Linda Palmer to co-produce the feature film “Last Call at Murray’s”.  The duo worked so well together that soon after, Andrew played “Chino” in Palmer’s award-winning film “Cat Dex:Inkosi”. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, he was nominated for best actor for his performance in the film! In between filming features, Andrew performed in the popular CBS series “SEAL Team” with David Boreanaz. He then went on to work with another award-winning filmmaker, Kevin Nwankwor, producing and acting in the human trafficking feature "Muna" which hit the Nigerian box office at #1.  But wait, he gets cooler! Andrew lent his voice for the popular interactive game "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare”. And the best part is that Andrew is just getting started! Next up, he will produce and star in a socially conscious series called, "Civil Disobedience."

Andrew's extensive experience in both producing and performing in multiple award winning films, gives him an edge as an acting coach. He knows what works and what the creative team wants to see. He has a strong and unique approach derived from the Meisner technique. He focuses on living in the moment, script/character breakdown, and to "let it go - live". Andrew has trained with such renowned acting coaches as Aaron Speiser and Ivanna Chubbuck. He has coached talents such as Dayo Okeniyi (Hunger Games, Greek Freak) and Maria Sten (Swamp Thing, Straight Outta Compton).

We are so stoked to have Andrew as part of the Closeup Crew team. Whenever you book Andrew for your next Self-Tape session, you can feel confident you're in good hands. Andrew will help you feel like you're sending in your best take every single time.
